Privacy Policy

Planted Studio ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and your rights under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

1. What we collect

When you submit our project intake form, you provide:

• Name and email address
• Property address (used to look up climate zone, soil type, rainfall)
• Project details — package selected, garden bed measurements, photos, sketches, plans, design preferences, plant likes/dislikes, budget
• Any covenant or DA documents you choose to upload

When you visit our website we may also collect non-identifying technical information (browser type, pages visited, referring URL) via Google Analytics, used to understand site performance.

2. How we use your information

• To deliver the design service you've requested
• To send you the design files and related correspondence
• To send invoices and process payment
• To respond to your questions
• To improve our service (anonymised, in aggregate)

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information.

3. Where your information is stored

Project data is stored in Google Workspace (Drive, Sheets, Gmail) — a third-party service operated by Google LLC, with data residing in Google's data centres. Google is APP-compliant for Australian customers.

Email is processed via ImprovMX (Delaware, USA) for forwarding to our inbox. Payment processing is via Stripe (USA), if applicable.

4. Disclosure

We do not disclose your personal information to third parties except:

• To service providers who assist with our operations (Google, Stripe, our accountant) — bound by confidentiality
• If required by Australian law (e.g. court order)
• With your express consent (e.g. if you ask us to share your design with a landscaper or supplier)

5. Your rights

You may at any time:

• Request access to the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction of any inaccurate information
• Request deletion of your information (subject to our legal record-keeping obligations)
• Withdraw consent for marketing communications

Email hello@plantedstudio.com.au with any request and we'll respond within 30 days.

6. Data retention

We retain your project files for 7 years (matching ATO record-keeping requirements for invoiced services). After that, files are securely deleted unless you ask us to keep them.

7. Cookies

We use Google Analytics cookies to understand site usage. You can disable cookies in your browser without affecting access to our service.

8. Complaints

If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, contact us first at hello@plantedstudio.com.au. If unresolved, you can escalate to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).

9. Updates

We may update this policy as our service evolves. The "last updated" date above will reflect any change. Material changes will be notified to active customers by email.
